Email Marketing VS. Social Marketing

Email Marketing VS. Social Marketing

Providing Value to the Customer

While your core goal is to make money, you have to do that by first helping your audience reach their goals. This is what is at stake when you are trying to provide good value to the consumer on the other end of your communication.

You can do this in different ways using both Email Marketing and Social Marketing strategies. One thing you need to remember when using email is that the recipient of your message will be more concerned with the length of what you’re saying as well as the speed with which they can get the task done.

Emptying an email inbox is often a chore that people do, rather than something enjoyable. On the other hand, social platforms are where many go to procrastinate on other tasks or relax and enjoy their time not spent working.

On social media, they welcome the ability to get lost in content that is engaging to them. Therefore, your message containing valuable information can be longer in order to draw them in.

Regardless of which platform you are using, both email and social marketing require two way communication in order to be successful. You might be able to get away with ignoring your audience for awhile, but you will eventually be replaced by another marketer who also shares great information, but who replies and engages with their audience.

So whether you are answering a reply to an email someone sent you, or engaging in the comments section of your social media accounts, it’s important that you stay connected to your audience.

When it comes to providing value to your readers and followers, you can create a tip series that you drip out via email. You can share one off tips and hacks both on email and social media platforms.

You can also create case studies that you share with your people to inspire and motivate them. On some social sites, such as Facebook groups, you can also allow your followers to post and share their journey as you help them.

You can even moderate the posts to ensure no spam reaches the group. Part of the value that you offer to the consumer will be the promotion of products that will make their lives easier and better.

Many marketers simply think of what kind of commission they can earn for themselves. But if you truly find products that will enhance someone’s life, then that kind of screening is a value of its own kind.

Another thing you can do on both social media platforms and in emails is share free gifts that your followers and readers can download. Some of them will be planned and some of them will be unexpected surprises.

You can also share the value of other leaders in your niche, such as a blog post that you feel would help them. This kind of selfless leadership is very valuable to consumers who want a well-rounded education in a niche topic.
